We are excited to bring Romona’s Lunch Clubs Program back to Romona. Many of the old clubs from the past are back and we are pleased to offer some new ones. Please note that most clubs are 8 weeks and some are 6 weeks long – please check the club’s description and the dates for exact details. The purpose of these clubs is to provide an opportunity for the children to explore their interests, expand their knowledge and build skills beyond the school curriculum.
The biggest change to this year’s program is that parents will register for clubs ONLINE. We will NOT be sending home a packet with descriptions of all of the clubs, but rather we will ask you to go to visit this site for details and registration information. This saves time, paper and money for all of us.
Club descriptions are available on the Club Descriptions page. This gives you and your children a chance to consider their options and look at days, prices and grade requirements before actual online registration begins on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1.
Registrations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Registration will be open from Tuesday, December 1 –Tuesday, December 22, 2009. We have added additional clubs this year so that more children are able to get their first choice, AND, more clubs are open to the lower grades than in the past.
All clubs are offered at lunchtime (12:10 pm - 1:02pm) and your CHILD MUST BRING A SACK LUNCH ON CLUB DAYS – IF NOT, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ADVANCE IN FRONT OF CHILDREN ALREADY IN THE LUNCH LINE. THIS IS IMPORTANT – THEY WILL BE DELAYED IN THEIR CLUB IF THEY MUST WAIT IN LINE. Please let your child know that they must eat their lunch in the cafeteria first and promptly proceed to his or her club room, unless the instructor says otherwise.
Club sizes are limited and the limits will be posted on site with the descriptions. Waiting lists will be established when necessary. Minimum enrollment is required for some clubs.
The school office will announce a club cancellation on the morning of that club’s meeting date; make-up classes will be announced during the next club meeting. Classroom teachers will have a list of the club rooms.
If a child does not get into a club, your credit card will be refunded. If you cannot register online or pay by credit card for any reason, please put a note in the clubs mailbox in the Romona office or send an email to romonaclubs@gmail.com. We will make every effort to accommodate special needs.
Club lists will go out the first week of January.
